Whitney Court, a lovely Edwardian manor house owned by Mr Augustine Hope, is dramatically situated with outstanding views of the Wye Valley and Black Mountains of Wales. The staff being experienced and friendly, will help to plan and organise any event you and your guests may wish to organise, enabling you to enjoy the warmth and relaxed atmosphere of this exceptional family home. Designed around a circa 50 room neo Jacobean stone house built in 1898 to 1902. Whitney Court is still owned by the same family, with the house retaining its original period style; having a panelled great hall with elaborate heraldic ceilings, richly tiled fireplaces and grand bedrooms and, in many cases, with adjoining dressing rooms. |
The cascading lawns and gardens recall the warmth of a lost era. Whitney Court is available not only for weddings, but vacations and family reunions, house parties, receptions, private parties, corporate events and even concerts. The acoustics are exceptionally good in the Grand Hall. The property is only a short distance from the town of Hay-on-Wye where the Hay Festival entertains guests on an annual basis. Whitney Court became the house party for a famous music celebrity to do just that, in the year of his visit. Whitney Court can accommodate 22 overnight guests and can be adapted to meet the needs of parties by contacting the friendly team that are in the contacts list. Whitney Court is part of a larger estate of over 1000 acres where there are sporting opportunities to be enjoyed in the locality and on the estate, together with exclusive walks or rides through the grounds of the estate. There are the facilities to keep horses in the stables, should you wish to accommodate horses during your stay. |
