 The Great Hall |
You choose the contents of any menus and the wines and the drinks to be served from the bar. You are also free to decide the layout of the dining tables, the table decorations, flowers and any theme that you would like followed to make the event individually yours. If it is cold there are even log fires in the public rooms to add a really homely atmosphere. |
| Reception Areas The ceiling of the large and magnificent oak- panelled Great Hall is enriched by the coats of arms of the forebears of Augustine Hope, the present owner. The hall is ideal for holding a Civil Wedding or other ceremony and for serving drinks either on arrival, or afterwards, as appropriate, or for corporate presentations, discussions or dancing. |
 Red Dining Room |
The Red Dining Room may be used for dinners or furnished as a quiet sitting area where more elderly guests can enjoy a more peaceful atmosphere during a function.
| The superbly furnished Double Drawing Room provides an impressive reception or dining area where up to 132 guests may be seated at round tables, served by our renowned caterers Ascaris of Hereford. The rooms offer wonderful views over the Wye valley and open out onto the terraces where guests may also be entertained. |  Double Drawing Room |

Larger functions for up to 250 guests can be accepted. For these, marquees may be erected on the stunning grass terraces and used for dining and dancing, leaving the main house to be used for a Civil Wedding Ceremony, drinks or sitting out. We have a list of firms which supply marquees, portaloos, and heaters, and of other caterers, entertainers, florists, photographers, car hire companies and people to organise outdoor activities. |
| Accommodation After a function, up to a maximum of six guests may stay overnight at Whitney Court on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Alternatively, the entire Court may be rented for any number of nights or days in which case up to 22 adults may be accommodated. A limited number of children may also stay by arrangement with the Functions Manager. If the whole Court is rented we can arrange for caterers to provide meals, as required, for a separate charge payable by you direct to them. |

Sporting Facilities Renting Whitney Court Privately entitles those staying to make use of the lovely walks and bridle paths on the estate. Fishing, clay pigeon shooting, falconry, riding and stabling for horses can be arranged at an extra charge. |
The Functions Manager will be delighted to discuss charges for renting Whitney Court and for arranging any type of private or corporate function.
| Hay-on-Wye Festival The Court is an ideal venue to rent for the period of the Hay Festival being only 5 miles from Hay-on-Wye. |
